The SMI Team
Jonathan Davis is the founder of SMI and has over a decade of student ministry experience. From an early age he felt called to ministry. Discipling students and dreaming of creative ways to do ministry are two of Jonathan’s big passions in life. He has helped start a new Sunday service geared towards a younger demographic at each of the five churches he has been on staff at. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Communication Studies, a Master of Divinity degree and is currently a student in the Doctor of Ministry program at Hardin Simmons University’s Logsdon Seminary. He currently serves as Pastor of Urbanna Baptist Church in Urbanna, VA where he lives with his wife Audrey and their two sons.
Audrey Davis is a contributor and editor of SMI, and has over a decade of student ministry experience. Audrey’s passion and call to ministry began in college and she’s been following God’s call ever since. She has served as a youth minister and a childrens minister in numerous churches in both Virginia and Texas and is even a three time national tap dancing champion. Audrey holds a B.S. in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity Degree. She currently serves as a Ministry Assistant at Kilmarnock Baptist Church in Kilmarnock, VA, and resides in Urbanna, VA with her husband Jonathan and their two sons.
Alec Jacks is a contributor for SMI and has served at multiple churches in various student ministry positions over the past five years. Having spoken across the great state of Texas, launched a college ministry, and run several distinctively different student ministries, his passion has been ignited for students and college ministry in many different venues. He enjoys Tex-mex, Sushi, music that makes a person feel something deeply, ideas too big to be carried out by himself, and of course, ultimate Frisbee. Although he has presently taken a break from full-time ministry to finish his degree, he is available for speaking engagements and would love to join you for a weekend retreat, or for dinner at any local tex-mex restaurant. He is currently studying Biblical Studies at Dallas Baptist University.
